## How an answer is made

**A reader asks a question.** From any page of your docs site, in plain language.

**Docup finds the relevant passages.** It searches your published pages only. Drafts and code are never part of the search.

**The answer is written from those passages.** The reply is based on what your docs say. If they do not cover it, it says so instead of guessing.

**Every answer links to its sources.** Readers can open the exact page and heading the answer came from.

**Only your published docs**: Ask AI turns on when you publish, and it reads nothing that readers cannot already see.

**Never reads your code**: It has no access to your repository, only to the pages you published.

**Protected from abuse**: A bot check and a per-visitor rate limit keep the chat for real readers.
